Atlanta-born Katherine “Kaki” King has worn many hats during her music career. Her 11 albums incorporate an incredibly diverse array of elements and instrumentation, including atmospheric, pedal-steel-laden folk and effects-driven, instrumental post-rock. In addition to scoring films like August Rush and Sean Penn’s Into the Wild—for which she received a Golden Globe nomination—King’s most recent artistic focus is The Neck Is a Bridge to the Body, an album and multimedia production in which projections are cast both behind her and onto the customized acoustic guitar she plays live.
